About

Using the scripture Philippians 4:8, the Mission of DailyDwelling is to DWELL on what is TRUE, HONORABLE, RIGHT, PURE, LOVELY, OF GOOD REPUTE, EXCELLENT, AND WORTHY OF PRAISE as I honestly and consistently share my life experiences as a Child of God, Wife of an Army Chaplain, and Homeschooling Stay at Home Mother of Three.

I’m Monica, a homeschooling mom of three precious preschoolers who keep me on my toes at all times. I have been married to my husband, Keith, for eight years. Keith is a Chaplain in the Army and we are currently in the process of moving back to the United States from Germany.

My greatest joys in life are in serving God through being a wife to my husband as he lives out God’s calling on his life and being mom to our three children.

I began blogging to keep in touch with family and friends while living a long distance away and most importantly with my husband during his deployment. But blogging has become so much more than that. It is a community that I am so thankful for.

Along with blogging, I enjoy cooking, reading, crafting, photography and digital scrapbooking. I share a bit of all of those things here at DailyDwelling.

Keep reading to get to know the rest of my beautiful family….

keith

Keith is currently serving with the 40th Engineer Battalion. He writes a personal blog about his life as an Army Chaplain on ChaplainAndrews.com. Keith is also an avid comic book reader. His favorites includes Superman, Batman, and DareDevil….basically, anything by D.C. Comics. He blogs about his comic book hobby at Comic Book Day.

daddys girls 1

EA and MC are our four year old twin girls. They were born premature at 30 weeks, but you’d never know that now. They have so much fun playing together and have a wonderful bond as twin sisters. But they have completely different personalities.

ea moody pop

EA loves to play with her babies and read books. She has such a nurturing and mothering spirit. In fact, she’s often more patient and understanding with her little brother than I am. I can’t wait to see how this personality trait develops as she gets older. She takes life a bit seriously. And can be quite strong willed. But at the same time, she is the social butterfly. She thrives in a group setting and loves having lots of friends to care for and play with.

mc with cane

MC is more creative and scientific. She is a thinker. She can be entertained for long lengths of time with art supplies. She is a funny and quirky little girl. She is more introverted in a crowd, but is such a clown and has an incredibly vibrant personality that really comes out when you get to know her. She is a more naturally compliant child. But definitely also has strong opinions.

will running

Will is the baby of our little family….at least for now. He was born eight weeks before we moved to Germany from the States. This contributed to lots of fussiness as a baby. He is such an active little boy. He is quite strong willed himself, but at the same time has the sweetest nature. Right now he is absolutely terrified of furry animals, especially dogs, and toys that are a little too life like. He loves to play with blocks and cars. And he has a slight complex…he thinks he is just as old as and can do just as much as his four year old sisters. He doesn’t have too much trouble keeping up with them, though.

So, welcome to my little home on the blogosphere! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Oh, and I would love to know that you were here….just leave a little note below!

Hi Monica,

Stephanie at Our Own International Multiples Club recommended your blog. I’m interested in digital scrapbooking, and you do an excellent job with it! What program(s) do you use to put together your pages? If you get a chance, email me or visit my blog.

Thanks and have a great day!
Lindsay.

Nicely done! This is one of the most informative & welcoming About pages I’ve seen. I thought your old design with the paragraph info & pic @ the upper left was adequate & I never looked for an About page before now. Wow, when you re-do, you really re-do! Very good. As a teacher, I appreciated the observations about your children. I hope you can give their teachers something similar when they start school – it cuts the learning curve down when you know things like you mentioned!

Just wanted to say that I love your website and your mission and your description of your ‘greatest joys’! A few months ago, I selected your husband’s name on anysoldier.com (purely by chance? maybe it was the Holy Spirit’s leading!) for our AWANA Club in Syracuse, NY to send support packages to our troops. Only today did I decide to ‘google’ and find out what denomination your husband adhered to. I apologize for the ‘googling’ – I always feel it is somewhat an invasion of privacy and don’t do it much – but what I have found is AWESOME. I found his website, and now yours. I have read one of his recent sermons (Extreme Makeover) and find it is wonderful and edifying. I read an old post about the hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy” – one of my absolute favorites – and totally agree with his sentiments. Thanks be to God for leading you two in His service (and in the service of our country.) God bless you and your family.

You already know I love your family and what you may not know is that I have once again grown closer to the Lord because of you. You are so wonderful and strong through God’s grace…..it amazes me.

Hi Monica, when you said your location is not in the USA, I thought you’re in Canada. Now, I found out that you’re in Germany! How exciting – we’re near! Like, 3 GMT hours away! :-)

Hello,
I found your blog with a google search and I love it. I am just getting into the blogging world and you have so much cool stuff; links, buttons, categories, subscribers, etc. How did you discover how to do all of it and what recommendations do you have for me to improve my own blog?
Thanks
Theresa

Hi~
Found you through twitter! We are a Navy family stationed in the D.C. area. I noticed you are in Germany. I run a program that sends expired coupons to overseas military families. I would love to send you some if you use coupons. Anyway, glad I found your blog! It is fun to “meet” other military families.

I’m just curious, what can you do with expired coupons? I have tons of them, being the frugal one :)

Hello! I stumbled upon your blog today in linking up to some of the other Wordless Wednesday participants. I was drawn in by your “About Me” page. I am a Christian mom to 4 kids, ranging in ages from 18 down to 6. I work full-time at my church. I have the highest respect and honor for those families serving in the armed forces. I will pray for your family. I hope to get to know you more!

I’m so glad you found me on twitter so that I could find you here! I selfishly hope that you update your twitter when you post to your blog; I used to have a reader, but it got overwhelming to find I could never keep up with my reading, so I stopped. *sigh* Twitter is my newest thing (isn’t it everyone’s?) so I’m going to give that a try! From one military spouse to another, thank you for all that you and your husband do! I really do believe that we help to enable our men to serve this great country of ours! God Bless :-) – Jolyn

your kids are adorable, and I can’t wait to read more of your blog. I got your link off of several blogging ladies who wrote about Blissdom. Do you know where you will be stationed when you get home from Germany? I am at Fort Sill and there is a wonderful bunch of Christian homeschooling ladies here.

Hi Monica,

My name is Karen L. Anderson and I maintain a blog at onlinechristiancolleges.net . I was wondering if you’d be open to me submitting an article for your consideration to be published as well. Basically what I’m proposing is that you provide me with any specifications you have for an article, I’d write the article, and in exchange at the top or bottom of the article you list my name as the author with a link to my homepage.
You’d be getting a quality article written according to whatever specifications (within reason) that you detail, and I’d be getting the opportunity to present my writing and site to a new audience. Depending on the specifications, it would probably take me anywhere from 7-10 days to send you a draft of the article, which you could then review and consider publishing.
Here some features I’ve written:
http://onlinechristiancolleges.net/cuttingthecostsofpostsecondary/
http://onlinechristiancolleges.net/how-to-get-along-better-with-your-college-roommate/
If you are interested in accepting a post from me, I would appreciate your getting back to me.
Thanks,
Karen L. Anderson

Hi Monica,

I know this email is out of the blue, but I just posted an article on my blog entitled “50 Inspiring Religious Leaders You Should Follow on Twitter” http://onlinechristiancolleges.net/50-inspiring-religious-leaders-you-should-follow-on-twitter/ . Anyway I figured I’d bring it to your attention in case you thought it interesting enough to drop a quick mention on your site about it as I’m trying to increase readership of my blog.

Either way, sorry for the unsolicited email and hope you have a good week.

Thanks,
Karen L. Anderson
