I think I’ve told you all about our Build-a-Bear tradition.
But just in case I didn’t and/or you don’t remember, or you are new here (welcome, by the way!) I’ll fill you in.
We have a tradition of getting a Build-a-Bear for our new babies.
It started when Keith and I got EA and MC each a Build-a-Bear before they came home from the NICU.
Then EA and MC went with us to pick out and dress up a Build-a-Bear for Will before he was born.
Well, we did the same thing for little Miss Jenny.
Will and the girls went with us the weekend before she was born and we picked out a special Build-a-Bear for her.
They each had a part in the process.
Will picked out the bear.
EA helped stuff it.
They all kissed and placed a heart inside the bear before it was stitched up.
MC picked out the bear’s outfit.
We all agreed on the name Sneezy for Jenny’s bear.
Sneezy was actually Jenny’s nickname in-utero before we knew we were having a girl. This nickname was given by my friend, Sidney, in Germany because in the early part of my pregnancy I sneezed ALL. THE. TIME.
They were super excited to present they baby sister with her bear. It was a special time for all of our children.
Jenny was so excited to meet Sneezy, too.
Okay, not really…she kind of slept through the whole thing, but I just know she and Sneezy are going to be great friends.
Does you have a tradition for welcoming new babies into your family?

Oh, Sneezy!
I love that she’ll grow up with Sneezy. 🙂
She looks absolutely adorable! And her big sisters and big brother look so proud of her.
Wish I could snuggle her… I *love* taking naps with babies. They’re so peaceful.
xoxo.

We did a Build a Bear for our son’s first birthday. Since our daughter just turned 1, we decided to get her one too. Our son helped put it together, gave it a “bath” at the store for his sister and named it. He loved participating even though it wasn’t going to be his.
Great tip!

Such a cute idea! Your family is adorable! That is so funny that the bear is as big as the baby. My younger sister makes a BAB for each baby in the family. She just loves that store!

That is such a cute idea! I never thought about doing something like that when a new child comes into the home. I will keep that in mind for our next one for sure!
