Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures and a Confession

For my Works for Me Wednesday post this week, I have a photo editing confession to make.

Remember this picture from my Father’s Day post?

father's day pic

Do you notice anything strange about it??

Anything catch your attention??

Anything just not look right??

Well, here’s my confession…..that picture was made by combining these two pictures.

DSC_0162

and

DSC_0164

I went in search of a picture of my husband with all three of our children for the post on Father’s Day and was surprised to find that I did not have a recent one….not more recent than the ones we took at his Welcome Home Ceremony.

So, out of desperation, I extracted EA from the picture where she was sitting on the bench by herself at LegoLand. By the way, she had an opportunity to be in the picture with MC, Will, and her Daddy, but she was being quite ornery and didn’t want to. And with her strong will in full swing, I wasn’t pushing the issue.

After extracting her from that photo, I was able to bring her into the other picture and place her on her daddy’s lap fairly easily. I had to do some minor adjustments to make it look more natural, but I was pretty pleased with the end result.

But I also felt a tad bit guilty for posting it….It felt a little bit like cheating.

It worked, but I’m not sure that I’ll be using that technique often.

I do like to keep things real and honest here.

I love photo editing with Photoshop Elements, it works for me, even when I have to confess afterwards!

Well I missed the 1st showing of the Father’s Day pic… but I think it was quite creative to pull from another pic:) I have yet to invest the time into learning one of those photo editting programs… I”m still using little old Picasa:)

I was going to share that my kids used to HATE pics too (and they still do when they are in a “mood”). But a lot of that has been eliminated by keeping some TicTacs or Smarties in the diaper/camera bag or pocket for those photoshoot moments. My kids will “cheese” it up anywhere knowing they will be rewarded. All I have to do is to ask, “I’ll be checking to see who is smiling.” Gotta love digital:)

I couldn’t tell! I noticed that I don’t have many pictures of both my kids with their dad either lately. So, for father’s day I used him with just one of them.
