Happy Friday Everyone! Friday just feels like a day to celebrate, doesn’t it? It’s marks the end of a work/school week and the beginning of a fun weekend. I feel like I’ve been playing catch up most of this week. I really got behind on things last week and we are leaving tomorrow for a weekend Marriage Retreat an hour away that my husband is doing for families in his unit. Please don’t even ask me if I’ve packed yet…I haven’t. I’m a last minute packer.
The resort that we’re staying at for the retreat doesn’t have internet access and we have decided to take the weekend away from blogging to focus on quiet family activities. We’re taking books and a Canasta game to keep up occupied after the kids go to sleep this weekend.
I’m excited to share my Friday Favorites with you today! I have lots of good recipes and articles for you and can’t wait to see what you have for me!! If we don’t get packed I guess I can thank you and your Friday Favorites for that, huh?
If you have a favorites link post, I would love for you to sign the MckLinky below and share away! And if you don’t have a blog but would like to share a favorite article you’ve read this week, you are welcome to do so in the comments section. Just make sure you link back here in your favorites post or by putting the Friday Favorites button on your blog.
First up today, I would like to congratulate my friend Ann on the birth of her beautiful baby girl. Ann is already back into the swing of things with blogging and you can read all about Miss Madeline Rose! I’ve been able to hold her and soak up baby twice already and she is just so sweet!
Another friend here has a great post about Independence and being the “dependant” of a soldier.

Also, this week I was able to manually upgrade my WordPress to version 2.8.4, the newest version. There were alerts about security problems with the previous version and the automatic upgrade plug-in was not working for me. I was able to manually upgrade using understandable and simple step-by-step instructions from (Anti)Social Development.
Now it’s your turn to share. Sign the MckLinky with the permalink to your own Friday Favorites or any link post from this week!

A weekend away from blogging – what a great idea!! It’s such a gift when Joe and I both let go of all of the to-do’s and just enjoy each other.
