Yikes! With the Fall Festival going on this week. I completely forgot about Friday Favorites until I saw Erin’s post. I’m sorry!
Honestly, I’ve tossed around the idea of discontinuing Friday Favorites because it’s just not doing a whole lot. But I don’t think I am. Sometimes I get too wrapped up in doing the “popular” thing and that is the case with blogging, too. Who cares if no one else links up? I like sharing my favorites with you each week, so that’s what I’m going to do.
If you want to link up with a list of your favorites sites and/or posts from the week, then I would love for you to do so! I really think this is a great way to get to know one another and share wonderful resources. I always get neat ideas and find great new blogs by just looking at the recommendations of others.
When I opened up my shared items folder in my reader I thought, “Wow…there’s some really good stuff here!” And I want to let those that wrote those really good recipes, craft ideas, etc. that I appreciate the work they put into it.
Before I get to the links, here’s my favorite photo from our home this week…MC got up way early Tuesday morning, stumbled into the living room and immediately went back to sleep on the couch.
And now for the links….I did them a bit differently with descriptions rather than just categorized lists. Let me know what you think.
Cooking Tip of the Day has instructions on Making Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs. This is something that I’ve always been a bit unsure of myself. Google was my friend with the Easter Eggs last year.
Are you planning or going to a Baby Shower anytime soon? My Right Brain has a fun baby shower idea where each guest contributes a page for an ABC Book.
For organizing and decorating your home, Complete Organizing Solutions has 4 Ways to Organize With an Old Window. My favorite is the chalk board.
Have you ever wanted to start over again? Debra reflects about homeschooling in If I Were Starting Over Again at Heart of the Matter Online.
Here’s a simple and basic recipe for Mexican Rice from Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures. Mexican rice is my favorite side to have whenever we have a mexican dish for dinner.
Hoosier Homemade has a recipe for Cheesy Chilli Dip…Yumm! This is great for game night, movie night, or just watching sports on TV.
Mandi at Organizing Your Way just had a precious baby girl. She shares a Quick Tip for Packing a Nursing Basket.
Hallee the Homemaker has a great post about her family’s tradition of Family Game Night.
Are you struggling with getting enough sleep? It’s hard when you’re a busy mom caring for little ones, especially babies who may not be sleeping through the night. Simple Mom shares 3 Sleep Strategies for a Well-Rested Mom.
Make and Takes has a great list of Apple Treats & Crafts for Fall
And I found this fun craft that I am excited about doing with Will, who sometimes gets left out on the craft activities around here. Check out Heartstone House’s A Bird’s Book of Colors…fun with a paper bag book!
I hope you enjoy the links this week! Thank you to everyone for your amazing talent and ideas.
If you would like to share your own list of favorites, just link up below with your own link post.

I really do enjoy reading your favs… haven’t been able to write one of my own lately, but glad you are still doing yours. I struggled with similar feeling with my Weekend Thoughts carnival, but my husband keeps encouraging me to do it anyway.
I def wanna checkout the apple crafts and recipes as we are hoping to go apple picking soon. And I also like that brown bag book idea!! Thanks for sharing!

Hi, I just found you via Twitter and love your blog. I use Thesis as well! Since I am originally from Germany, I will stop by more often to read about your time in Germany. How do you like it there? Do you have contact with Germans? I hope your husband will come home soon!
I just read the homeschooling entry of your favorites. Can’t wait to read more, this is a great idea! I will write my own entry right now.
Best,
Dagmar

Thanks for these great links! I enjoyed the window one, the sleep one and the starting over one quite a bit. =)
A friend of mine and I are going to be opening a drop off location for a local produce coop soon, she’s been a member for a long time, I’ll be joining for the first time. In addition to locally grown and organic produce, they also have sources for raw milk, local organic meats, fresh milled (upon order) grain and some other things. It’s not my end goal, but it will be a good place to start to begin getting some healthier and more natural foods for my family. I can’t wait!

OOPS! The second half of that comment was supposed to be on a different post I have open in another tab. Silly me! (But if you’re wondering what I’m referring to: http://homewithpurpose.blogspot.com/2009/09/fight-back-fridays-92509-whats.html)
