I SO Mad

November 28th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Tonight at Mindy’s house, I took a toy away from Elizabeth Anne and Mary Catherine because they were fighting over it. That’s usually the best solution when they refuse to share. I learned from a friend early on, that it’s easier to put the toy in time-out! They both came back wanting to play with the toy but I said no because they weren’t willing to play together.

After we came home, I was in the nursery changing Will and the girls were in my room with Keith. Mary Catherine began saying, “I so mad” over and over. (two year olds have a tendency to repeat themselves, A LOT) At first Keith couldn’t understand her and when he finally caught on to what she was saying he asked her who she was mad at. She said “I so mad at Mommy”. He asked why and she said “At Mindy’s house”. He came in and asked me why she was mad at me. At first I couldn’t figure out what I could have done to offend her so badly and then I remembered taking the toy away from her. I asked if that’s what she was mad about and she said “YEAH, I SO MAD AT MOMMY. MOMMY TOOK MY DOG!”

I guess I can be thankful that she is learning to voice her emotions so well.

Stumble It!

Yeah, she IS voicing those thoughts really well!! AND obviously remembering the lesson, eh?

That’s what we do in our house too. Take the toy in question. The girls hate it. But KNOW that if they fight, that’s what happens. THOUGH I have to say, there have been a few times when one of my girls has fought over it ON PURPOSE with the hopes of getting it taken away from the other sister. *can you believe how deviant they can be early on?!*

And when I know that’s happening, just that one sister gets it taken away. And OHH how she cries. ;)
