Since we shipped most of our household several weeks ago in preparation for our move back to the United States, we have had to make do with several things around here.
Will’s booster seat was shipped along with everything and I really didn’t think this would be a problem, but he could barely reach the table to eat his food without it. He wasn’t eating well and we thought this was why.
Our solution was to take an empty box, fill it with books for weight, and use that as a booster seat!
And it has worked marvelously!
Because our furniture was shipped, we are using borrowed furniture from the Army. This is a standard procedure. We have beds, a couch, two chairs, a coffee table, an end table, and a dining room table with four chairs. The problem is that there are five of us, so there isn’t quite enough chairs. During the day it isn’t such a problem because often my husband has to eat at work or he and I just sit on the couch to eat. But for dinner, we wanted to sit together as a family.
Our solution was to move the coffee table over and use it as a bench for the girls to sit on.
And it has worked terrifically as well!
We are beyond excited that we will be back home in the United States in just two weeks! Having to live with lots less and making small adjustments are small sacrifices to make in our journey home.

Isn’t it amazing the creative solutions you can come up with when you need to! We lived overseas for a few years, with considerably less stuff, and it was good to learn to manage with less.
