Keith’s leave ended this weekend and he went back to work today. That means what we are going to start getting in to a regular routine and schedule again (hopefully). It also means that I am back to menu planning and I am really hoping to stick to it! There are a couple of things up in the air this week because of the 4th of July four day that we have. We’re trying to decide exactly what we’re going to do. There’s a possibility of going to the Frankfurt Zoo which I have really been looking to taking the kids to.
Anyway, here’s what I have planned for the week…
Monday – Hamburgers, Fries, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob (this was actually planned for last weekend but it didn’t happen)
Tuesday – Homemade Pizza
Wednesday – Tuna Casserole
Thursday – Chicken Salad
Friday – Trip to the Zoo….maybe eat at the Rhinelander afterwards
Saturday – Family cookout
Sunday – Brunch after church
We have started a new tradition of having brunch after church on Sunday’s. We try to make Sunday’s more worshipful and restful than stressful and busy and that includes the meals we eat as well.
You can visit Menu Plan Monday at OrgJunkie for more Menu Planning Ideas.
I also sat down last night and wrote out my “Ideal Daily Schedule” that I am going to try and probably do some tweeking to.
5-6 Walk (3 miles)
6-7 Shower and Dress
7-8 Kids up; Breakfast; Kids dressed
8-9 Sesame Street; Clean kitchen and declutter
9-10 “Room Time” for kids; my quiet time
10-11/11:30 School
11:30-12:30 Lunch
12:30/1-3:00 Nap/Quiet Time; Dinner Prep and Computer Time for mommy
3:00-5:00 Play time (park, games, etc)
5:30 Dinner
6/6:30 Bedtime Routine begins
7/7:30 Bedtime for kids
Like I said, I’m sure I’m going to be doing some tweeking and playing around with this, but for now, this is my ideal schedule for our day. Do you have a routine in your home that you follow? I would love to hear how your day goes.

I am so impressed. First, that you made a schedule. Second, that you wake 2 hours before your children. Wow! I think my kids have super-sonic hearing. It doesn’t matter what time I wake up, they hear me and are at the top of the stairs within ten minutes.

I LOVE your schedule. I am constantly trying to devise a schedule like tht for me. My goal is to be in bed sometime before midnight and to be up a couple of hours before my kids. The only problem is that as soon as I’m out of bed, they are after me ten minutes later. It drives me nuts. I really just want to have a couple hours to get stuff done and out of the way. You have inspired me to try harder to implement a schedule and just work with the challenges that may come my way.

One more thing…your orgjunkie link is going to taste of home instead of going to orgjunkie.com. Just thought I’d let you know.
