Menu Plan Monday – September 8

by Monica on September 7, 2008

I have decided that we are wasting too much food around here. I usually plan for leftovers, but we can only eat one dinner so many times before I’d rather just not eat at all. So, anyway, I’m trying to plan a little bit better to cut down on the leftover wasting!

I’ve also started something new to help me plan in advance. I really want to get to the point where I am planning monthly menus instead of weekly. So, I when I think of a recipe or dish that I want to try or have, I immediately write it on my monthly calender that’s in my household notebook. I think this is going to help a lot!

Monday/Tuesday – Chicken Fried Rice and Egg rolls

Wednesday/Thursday – Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Friday – Family Night at the Rhinelander

Saturday – Pulled-Pork Sandwiches (cooked in the crock pot)

Sunday – Pizza

We miss you guys!! Luke asks about each of you, but doesn’t seem to quite understand why he can’t walk over to your house to see you. When I mention friends – he automatically says, “Ibby Anne – Ary Kaburn?” It’s so cute and so sad at the same time! We miss you guys terribly!

I freeze leftovers so that we can have them the next week or a few nights later. That way I don’t get burned out on a meal. Iti s also nice to have something quick in the freezer for those nights that are just too crazy to cook from scratch.

Monica, I am with Stephanie…start freezing some of them! That way you will have something ready when you don’t want to cook, and you won’t be sick to death of them! I hope you are having a great day!
