I have tossed around the idea of not doing Menu Plan Monday here because I’m not sure how much of a benefit I am getting out of it. So, I didn’t plan our menu for the week until this morning and I was a bit frazzled about that. I have to menu plan…just have to. It’s a way of life now and the weeks I don’t do it are a disaster as far as eating well is concerned.
So I have decided to continue on with Menu Plan Monday because while the blog may not be getting a lot out of it, I am personally benefitting from the disciplined habit of posting our weekly menu. And I always have this as a reference to look back at what has worked and hasn’t worked in planning our meals and I often even have to check back here for links to recipes or just to remember what we are having on a certain day when I forget to put it in my calendar.
Monday – Shoyu Chicken, Rice, Broccoli, Pineapple chunks (yes, I am embarrased that this is on my menu for the third week in a row….I am determined that we will eat this tonight!!)
Tuesday – leftovers
Wednesday – Ham Steak; Macaroni Shells; Vegetable
Thursday – Lasagna Soup; Corn muffins
Friday – Steak, Baked Potatoes, Salad (chicken nuggets for kids)
Saturday – Sloppy Joes, Baked Fries, Corn
Sunday – Brunch

I agree with you about the menu planning. I have had weeks where I didn’t plan, and it felt like we had no food in the house, and everything was disorganized. I don’t always post though. That all depends on how I feel on Monday morning. I do LOVE to read the menus of some of my favorite people though. I have gotten some great recipes from my blog friends.

Monica – I didn’t get ours made yet either (the Shoyu Chicken) and we still have soup leftovers that I’m going to have to throw away – hate that. I’ve only been doing the MPM for a couple weeks and I love how it has changed my trips to the grocery store – today there were only 14 items on my list.

I love lasagna… I bet that soup is delicious!
I’ve found with meal planning that my grocery trips are mainly for on-sale produce! Love it.
