Prayer Journal Printables

This is an update of a post I did several years ago on my personalized prayer journal notebook. I got the idea for several of the prayer lists included in it from The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer by Lisa Whelchel, which I highly recommend.

This prayer journal has been the one that has worked for me best throughout the years. It can be used to record prayer requests and answers to those. It can also be used as a guide to facilitate your personal prayer time.

In the binder there are ten tabbed sections:

1. Scripture
2. Praise
3. Husband
4. Children
5. Self
6. Friends
7. Family
8. Church
9. Neighbors
10. Reaching Beyond

I use the scripture section to write out scripture verses that stand out to be as I read the Bible. Often I journal along with these scriptures using the SOAP (scripture, observation, application & prayer) Bible Study method. Sometimes I just write them out to meditate on them throughout the day.

Several of the sections (praise, husband, children, self, and reaching beyond) have twenty areas of concern that can be addressed in prayer on a daily basis. For example on day one I’ll pray for all of the areas of concern numbered with a one. On day two I’ll do the same for the areas of concern listed with the number 2 and so on. When I’ve prayed through twenty days, then I start back over with one.

These areas of concern are:

Praise
Holiness, Mercy, Faithfulness, Patience, Holy Spirit, Forgiveness, Love, Calvary, Deliverer, Heavenly Father, Friend, Counselor, Healer, Provider, Peace, Comforter, Blood, Power, Hope, and Coming Again

Self
Wisdom, Wife Role, Mother Role, Marriage, Words, Thoughts, Prayer Life, Bible Study, Confession & Repentance, Faith, Ministry, My Children, Health, Relationships, Diet, Exercise, Obedience, God’s Will, Temptation, and Finances

Husband
Priorities, Daily Devotions, Husband Role, Father Role, Work, Finances, Personal Walk, Sexuality, Health, Humility, Protection, Integrity, Thought Life, Words, Leader, Self-Control, Wisdom, Peace, Relationships, and Love

Children

There is notebook paper in each section to write down more specific prayer requests and answers to prayer. As I hear of a request, or something is laid on my heart to pray for I jot can quickly jot it down in this notebook under whatever section it applies to.

I have been working on updating the cover of my prayer journal and each of the tabbed sections. Now it has a fresh new look which I love and designed myself…yay! Also, with the updated cover and sections I added a scripture verse to go along with each topic.
