I’ve been tagged for my very first blogging award!!! It’s an award called “Share the Love” and the purpose is to tag the blogs of people’s blogs that you enjoy reading.
Crystal of Life at the Circus tagged me for this honoring award. She has a real talent for sharing the everyday antics of her “circus” family. I have gotten to know her so well through her many antidotes and precious family.
The rules of this award are to tag bloggers who make your day, make you laugh and/or smile as you read their blogs, and who leave uplifting comments on your own blog. You also include a link to this post, where the award originated, and ask the people you tag to do the same thing.
So, here goes…..
I have found so much joy in reading and writing blog. This started out as a way to communicate with family as we are away from each other, especially with Keith as he is deployed away from us.
But it has turned into more than that.
I have enjoyed getting involved in the blogging community by reading the blogs of other moms in the same season of life as I am. It makes me feel like I am not alone in this adventure we call parenting. And so many of you have been a blessing and encouragement to me as you read and comment here.
Some of the blogs I read are “real” friends that I know personally.
First of all is my very best friend, my husband Keith. He shares about his life and ministry to his soldiers in Iraq in his blog chaplainandrews.com. I love to read the ins and outs of life on the FOB as he shares it. He was also my inspiration and encouragement to start this blog you’re reading right now!
Stephanie lives in France with her husband and girls. She shares her yummy weekly menus and international adventures. We met when my girls were babies and Keith was deployed for the first time and her friendship was such a huge blessing to me.
Mindy is living here with me and has been a wonderful friend. She is raising her two precious boys, a five month old and a two year old. She is the kind of friend that you just love spending time with. Even though times have been stressful and this place can be completely frustrating, Mindy always has a cheerful heart and I have learned many lessons from her positive attitude.
Josie and Erin are friends I have recently reconnected with through Facebook. I went to high school with Josie and college with Erin. Oh how I wish we were better then and I wasn’t too busy being a selfish teenager to make more time for friendships! I am learning so much about the importance of relationships and the value of friendship.
Heidi and Sarah are twin mommies whose twins were due during the same month as mine were. We have shared the ups and downs of raising twins for the last three years now. They’re also really awesome scrapbookers, too!
Loonyhiker is a fellow digital scrapbooker and retired special ed teacher from my home state of South Carolina. She leaves so many encouraging comments that I appreciate so very much!
Becoming Me is the blog of Mrs. N, an amazingly open and honest writer. She did a beautiful blog series about postpartum depression, vulnerably sharing her own personal experience.
Donella is a Christian mother of two pre-teens that challenges me with almost every one of her posts. Her devotion to Christ shines through as she clings to his promises and honestly shares her life.
So, I tag all of you and anyone else that would like to join in on the fun! Know that I look forward to reading about your lives. You make me laugh and cry as you share your joys and struggles. Thank you!

I sort of tagged you back. I liked this one. A lot of these I just pass on. I enjoyed our chat yesterday. My perspective was so much better after we talked. Thank you!
Josie Thames says
Oh, Monica! That was so sweet that you tagged me. Now I feel bad that I left wordpress! It really was just too time consuming and difficult for me to navigate, so I went back to Blogger.

Thank you for thinking of me. I am honored and blessed by the words you said regarding My Quiet Corner. This completely made my day!
