I fondly remember my dad's comic books that he shared with us: Donald Duck, Little Lulu, etc. He also had subscribed to Mad Magazine from 1955 to 1965, so he'd read those to us and explain cultural references that we didn't "get". You are right, sharing hobbies with family members help us bond with them more.
