Keith sent us a picture yesterday titled, “War is Hell”. It is a picture of he and some other staff members in a Starbucks. Yes, I said a STARBUCKS!! Apparently, they have a pretty nice Starbucks in Kuait that he is visiting on an almost daily basis. They all have coffee in hand and big grins on their faces…yes, they are SUFFERING for the cause of our freedom. I have to admit to being just a tad bit jealous…I don’t even have a Starbucks.
The picture came on power point, the Army LOVES power point, but I was able to transfer it to a JPEG image with Photoshop Elements. I printed a copy of the picture on Post-It Note photo paper…which I LOVE, by the way, and stuck it to the front of our refrigerator.
EA and MC talk about it every time they walk by the refrigerator. They point to Keith and say, “Mommy, that’s my Daddy”. And “My Daddy is drinking coffee with his friends”. I think it is comforting for them to them to see a picture of him in uniform with his “friends”. It is comforting to even me to have a mental image of just one way that he spends a part of his day.
